DRDO, a premier defence research organization is working to make the country self-reliant in next generation advanced defence technologies. DRDO has successfully developed and produced critical defence systems like Agni and Prithvi missiles, Tejas fighter jet, Pinaka rocket launcher, Akash air defence system, and various radars and electronic warfare systems. DRDO has Significantly enhanced India's military capabilities, ensuring self-reliance in critical defence system and providing a strong defence posture and deterrence to our adversaries

In a new policy initiative, Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management (DFTM) has established many DRDO-Industry-Academia centres of Excellence at various premier academic institutions of the country more than hundred technology. One of the DIA-CoE centre is established in IIT Jodhpur which is strategically located near western border of our country. DIA - CoE IITJ is facilitating and undertaking multidisciplinary directed basic and applied research in collaboration with the academic researchers & Faculty at IITJ, Start-ups, Industries, DRDO laboratories and other academic and research institutions in the country to develop next generation technologies for defence applications.

DIA –CoE IIT Jodhpur, inaugurated by Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary DDR&D and Chairman, DRDO on 19th April 2024, is a collaborative initiative between the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur.

Located in the THAR desert on western border the DIA-CoE at IITJ is strategically positioned to address the unique challenges of 03 Research Vertical:

• Applications of Advanced Technologies for Desert Warfare (ATDW)
• Futuristic Omni Mobility Drones (OMD)
• AI for Information Warfare and War Gaming Technologies (AIWG)
