Applications of Advanced Technologies for Desert Warfare (ATDW)
Desert warfare presents a unique set of challenges due to the harsh and unforgiving environment. Extreme temperatures, with scorching days and freezing nights, place immense physical and logistic strain on soldiers and equipment. The scarcity of water makes hydration and resupply a constant concern, while sand and dust can damage vehicles, weapons, and electronics, often leading to equipment failure. The flat, open terrain offers little natural cover, making troops vulnerable to enemy surveillance and attacks. Navigating the desert is also difficult due to the lack of landmarks and the impact of sand on traditional and digital navigation tools. In addition, maintaining secure and efficient supply lines across vast, barren landscapes is a major logistical challenge. The psychological and Physiological toll on troops, combined with the technical and tactical difficulties, makes desert warfare one of the most demanding forms of combat. we invite project proposal in following areas from academia/ industry startup.
