Dr. Anurag Sharma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering (jointly with Mechanical Engineering) at IIT Jodhpur. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore (2021–2025). He earned his M.Tech. in Materials Science and Engineering from IIT Gandhinagar (2019–2021) and holds a B.Tech. (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College Ajmer (2015–2019).
His Ph.D. research primarily focused on enhancing the cyclic and impact performance of thermoplastic composites using filler reinforcement. During his doctoral studies, he gained collaborative research experience with Leonardo Helicopters and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. He has received several notable accolades, including the NTU Research Scholarship and the IITGN Institute Fellowship.
At IIT Jodhpur, his research focuses on advancing composite materials for next-generation structural components. His research interests include fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites; fatigue and impact behavior of composites; multifunctional composite design; composite manufacturing and processing; structural testing; and damage mechanics and failure analysis. His work aims to develop high-performance, lightweight, and sustainable composite materials through innovative design, manufacturing, and performance evaluation.
