Current Activities
IIT Jodhpur is jointly organizing a Vigyan Jyoti program with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jodhpur, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Barmer, from September 2023 – March 2024, funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India.
The program is coordinated by Dr. Sunita, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, who is the Nodal Officer, Vigyan Jyoti Program at IIT Jodhpur. The activities designed in this program are divided into four different events.
- Lab visit of IIT Jodhpur for Vigyan Jyoti scholars of classes 10 & 12.
- Event: Science Camp/Exhibition at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
- Skill Development Workshop at lIT, Jodhpur Campus.
- Role Model Interaction with scholars by eminent professors/scientists at IITJ.

IIT Jodhpur is jointly organizing a Vigyan Jyoti program with JNV, Pali, on 3rd December 2024 (previously organized for PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tilwasni, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Barmer on 8th October 2024), funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India. The primary objective of the program is to create gender equality, strengthen the ecosystem, and guide them on how to balance work and life. Since there are great benefits of being prepared early, it would be very beneficial to increase interest in science and technology among female students in the early education years.

2022: The program was coordinated by Dr. Ritu Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry.
2018: IIT Jodhpur is organizing Vigyan Jyoti Program from 14 May to 02 June 2018. The program is a new initiative of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, to bring gender parity in the different fields of Science & Technology (S&T), where females are under-represented. Under this program, 30 girl students of Classes XI & XII of nearby government schools are residing on the campus of IIT Jodhpur for 3 weeks, and participating in various activities designed specially for them on a spectrum of issues, like Role Models, Society & Life, Health, Competence, and Profession & Life.
