The SURAJ offers undergraduate students an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience under the mentorship of IIT Jodhpur faculty.

The programme is usually attended by the following regularly enrolled students of the prestigious institute:

• B.Tech. students after the 5th semester with CGPA ≥ 7.0 / 10, and
• M.Sc. students after the 1st semester with CGPA ≥ 7.0 / 10

Students are strongly encouraged to explore faculty profiles, research labs, and project areas before applying. Only a limited number of seats are available; therefore, applicants with strong academic credentials and relevant interests will be given preference.

Duration of internship

Internships can be offered for periods of 2 Months. The duration will be decided within the given time block by the project  mentors and interns mutually based on the nature of the project/requirement of project-related work and the availability of other logistics. 

The internships are offered during the summer (May to July).

Travel & Accommodation

• Travel expenses to/from IIT Jodhpur shall be borne by the interns/applicants.
• Hostel and mess charges shall be paid by the interns/applicants at standard rates.
• Interns may apply for hostel accommodation after the final admission. Allotment is subject to availability.

Honorarium/stipend/financial assistance:

• The student must belong to an NIT having a valid MoU with IIT Jodhpur &
• CGPA (after 5th semester of B.Tech. or after 1st semester of M.Sc.) must be 7.0 or above
