Ans. The applications will be available online only from the day after the CAT 2023 results.

Ques. What is the minimum qualification for applying?

Ans. Valid score in the Common Admissions Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
• A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent in the qualifying degree. A relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e. minimum of 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e. min. 5.50 on a 10-point scale) for the SC/ST/PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates.
• Final year students (of the above mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and will produce a provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program.

Ans. Applicants are initially shortlisted for the next round of selection based on a composite score with due weights to applicant's overall CAT scaled score, work experience and gender diversity. Ques. Is my CAT score the only or the most important criteria for my candidature?

Ans. Whereas your overall scaled CAT score is a very important criterion for receiving a call for our interview process, other factors like work experience and gender diversity do carry weightage.

Ques. How much is the application fee for MBA or MBA in Fintech and Cybersecurity 2024 admissions?

Ans. A non-refundable application fee of INR. 1200/- for Unreserved, OBC-NCL & EWS category and INR 600/- for the SC/ST/PwD category will be charged.

Ques. How do I pay my application fees?

Ans. Fee Payment is through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.

Ques. Is work experience mandatory for MBA program?

Ans. The MBA program is designed for candidates with or without work experience. Whereas work experience could be enriching to their learning experience and career opportunities, we also ensure that fresh minds from college also get due consideration in our selection process.

Ques. Is the admission process different for MBA and MBA-Technology degrees?

Ans. There is no separate admission process for the two degree streams. The students may opt for one of the degree streams at the end of the first year. The student's options will be duly evaluated and finalized by an internal faculty committee giving due consideration to student's past academic background, first year academic performance, and likely success in the chosen degree stream.

Ques. What is a valid work experience?

Ans. Work experience includes industry exposure in which students have been able to develop their professional and leadership skills. Whereas indicators such as the reputation of the organization, role and responsibilities could be useful to inform candidate’s work experience. What matters in admission process is a candidate’s ability to establish their candidature based on their experience.

Ques. What is an ideal length of experience?

Ans. Too long (more than five years) or too short (less than a year) are usually considered as not very appropriate for the MBA program. However, this is not a restrictive criterion for a candidate which the selection committee considers as a “potential student.”

Ques. Is the hostel facility available? What is the occupancy of the Hostel rooms?

Ans. Yes, hostel facilities are available. All students of the MBA program are required to stay in the campus. Each student is provided suitable accomodation as per availability.

Ques. What is the course structure of the MBA and MBA-Technology programs?

Ans. Yes, specialized masters program offered by our foreign partner institutions as part of the dual degree program regular on campus full-time degree programs.

Ques. Are there extra expenses to be borne by a student opting for dual-degree program?

Ans. The full cost of the dual degree program, i.e. tuition fee, living fee, travel, health insurance, visa etc., to be borne by the student.

Ques. Is there any financial aid provided by SME, IIT Jodhpur?

Ans. There would be no direct financial aid provided by SME. However, the tuition fee at the international partner school would be significantly discounted by the foreign collaborating universities due to having partnership between the international schools with IIT Jodhpur.

Ques. Whether a student opting for dual degree would have to pay full 2 year fee for MBA program to SME IIT Jodhpur?

Ans. Yes, you are required to pay the full tuition fee for the two year MBA program at SME IIT Jodhpur to be able to receive the dual degree.

Ques. Whether a student opting for dual degree get international placements? Will they help us get placed then?

Ans. Yes, you will be eligible to sit for the placement process of the foreign partner institution subject to the rules and regulations of the foreign partner instituion and laws of that particular country. IIT Jodhpur does not restrict students from its end.

Ques. If a student opting for dual degree program eligible for appearing in campus placements at IIT Jodhpur?

Ans. The student is allowed if the concerned recruiter consider and agree to conduct the selection process online.

Ques. Is there any upper limit on the number of students going abroad for the dual degree program in a year?

Ans. There is no set limit. However, it will vary from year to year and students will be selected primarily based on the academic performance at SME and past academic record.

Ques. As part of the dual degree program, can a student complete Specialized Masters program in IIT itself rather than going abroad?

Ans. No. The specialized masters program offered by partner institutions are regular on campus degree programs, that require the students to stay in the country where the instituion is located and puruse their education.

Ques. Is there any provision for awards/scholarships to students?

Ans. Yes, the following awards/scholarships are constituted for the MBA Batch of 2023-25:

• A cash award of INR 50,000 each to a maximum of 10 students of the incoming class of 2023-2025 will be given to those who have demonstrated outstanding co-curricular/extra-curricular performance as decided by the internal faculty committee of SME IIT Jodhpur by the end of the first semester.
• Top 7 students amongst those opting for MBA-Technology degree and top 3 students among those opting for MBA degree (in the order of CGPA at the end of first year) shall receive cash award of INR. 50,000 each and a merit certificate.

Ques. How do I add new information if I have already submitted my application?

Ans. Once the application has been submitted, we are unable to accept application updates. However, candidates could provide updates about their candidature, if invited to interview, at that time.

Ques. Are international students eligible to apply for MBA programme?

Ans. Yes. Graduates in any discipline with first class or 60% marks from a recognized University with a valid GRE/GMAT score can apply.

Ques. Where do I need to submit extra-curricular certificates?

Ans. There is no need to submit any extracurricular certificates.

Ques. I am not getting confirmation mail after submitting application. What to do?

Ans. The confirmation about submission and fee payment along the candidate the details will be displayed in the portal itself. You can always login and check. There will be no email post submission of application and fee payment.
