The School of Management & Entrepreneurship (SME) at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur started its operations as a distinct academic unit to integrate management education with technology and innovation. SME was conceived to meet the emerging need for tech-savvy managers and entrepreneurial leaders equipped for Industry 4.0 and beyond. It blends core management principles with cutting-edge technological insights, positioning itself as a technology-driven business school within an IIT framework.

Today, SME offers postgraduate (MBA / MBA-Technology), Minor Program (for UG students), and doctoral (PhD) programs tailored to produce future-ready managers and innovators. Its curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, live projects, industry engagement, and entrepreneurship support, encouraging students to work on real-world business and tech challenges. The school also connects learners with innovation labs and incubators within the IITJ ecosystem, nurturing entrepreneurial ventures alongside management education.

In the 2025 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking, an initiative by the Ministry of Education, SME became the youngest B-School to enter the coveted Management Ranking, only within the 5 years of its inception. The School aims to enter the Top 20 by the year 2030.
