Welcome to the Department of Mathematics !!

The Department of Mathematics focuses on the fundamental principles of mathematics and their applications in technology. Since its inception, the department has been active in research across both core mathematics and computing.

Our primary goal is to train a workforce capable of meeting the mathematical requirements of industry and academia. To support this, we have recently launched the B.S. in Mathematics and Computing , which provides a traditional mathematical foundation alongside modern algorithmic training. We also offer a B.Sc.–B.Ed. (ITEP) program for those pursuing a career in mathematics education. At the postgraduate level, the M.Tech. in Data and Computational Sciences utilizes resources from both the Mathematics and Computer Science departments to balance modeling with engineering, while our M.Sc. (Mathematics) program provides deep training in pure and applied mathematics.

Our faculty conduct research in several areas, categorized under:

We also have High-Performance Computing (HPC) facilities , and we encourage our students and faculty to make full use of these resources to tackle large-scale research problems.
