Dr. Shrutidhara Sarma, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur and PI of FERN Lab (https://www.shrutidhara.com/) has been honoured with the Women in Sensors & Wiley - Best Paper Award at the IEEE FLEPS 2025 Conference held in National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. The award recognizes her outstanding contribution to the field of flexible sensors through the paper titled "Assistive Living and Wireless Emergency Alert System for Mobility-Impaired Users". This innovative work presents a wearable, wireless sensing platform designed to enhance safety and autonomy for individuals with limited mobility.

Dr. Shrutidhara Sarma (डॉ. श्रुतिधरा शर्मा), Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur and PI of FERN Lab (https://www.shrutidhara.com/) has been has been elected as a Member of The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) in the field of Engineering Sciences and Technology. The Academy bestows this prestigious Membership upon scientists who have made outstanding contributions across various domains of Science and Technology. This recognition stands as a testament to Dr. Sarma’s impactful research, innovation, and dedicated service to the scientific community. Established in 1930, NASI is the country’s first science academy, founded under the vision of eminent physicist Prof. Meghnad Saha. The Academy continues to promote scientific excellence through research, dialogue, and public engagement. Dr. Sarma will be formally inducted during the 95th Annual Session of NASI, to be held in December 2025, at IIT Guwahati.

Dr. Priyanka Singh, Associate Professor in the Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering at IIT Jodhpur, has been selected for membership in the Indian National Young Academy of Science (INYAS).
INYAS was founded by INSA in December 2014 with a vision to promote Science education and networking among Young Scientists.
This year in the 9th General Body Meeting in Feb. 2024, 30 new members have been inducted in INYAS for a period of five years across various disciplines (Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Medical and Veterinary Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences).
