Dr. Bimal Mandal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. His research interests include cryptographic Boolean functions and cryptanalysis of block and stream ciphers. He has published several research papers in reputed journals and conferences in the area of cryptography. His research contributes to the analysis and characterization of the basic building of symmetric key cryptosystems.
Dr. Mandal completed his Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Jadavpur University in 2012 and PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2018.
Before joining IIT Jodhpur in July 2022, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Institute for Advancing Intelligence (IAI) at TCG Centres for Research and Education in Science and Technology (TCG CREST), Kolkata. He worked as a visiting scientist in the R C Bose Centre for Cryptology and Security, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and as a research associate in the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Cryptology, Arithmetic: Algebraic Methods for Better Algorithms (CARAMBA) team, National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation (INRIA), France for more than a year, and in the Department of Computer Sciences and Networks (INFRES), Telecom Paris, France for one year.
