Dr. Meenakshi K is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. Her NextGeneration Biomaterials Laboratory focuses on developing next-generation biomaterials and advanced biofabrication technologies to recreate native tissue microenvironments for regenerative medicine. The laboratory integrates biomaterials design, 3D bioprinting, biofabrication, and tissue engineering approaches to develop innovative platforms for tissue regeneration and translational biomedical applications. 

Prior to joining IIT Jodhpur, Dr. Meenakshi served as a DST INSPIRE Faculty in the Department of Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. She was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovations, USA. She completed her PhD in 2023 through a joint doctoral program between IIT Hyderabad and Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, where her research focused on polymer-based scaffolds for tissue engineering using 3D bioprinting and advanced biofabrication approaches. During her doctoral research, she also worked as a visiting researcher at the ACMD research facility (BioFab3D Lab), St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Australia, and at Saga University, Japan. Dr. Meenakshi has received several prestigious awards and fellowships, including the DST INSPIRE Faculty Fellowship, Swinburne University Postgraduate Research Awards (SUPRA) Fellowship, and the Research Excellence Award 2022 from IIT Hyderabad, recognizing her contributions to research. She also received the Merit-cum-Fee Waiver Scholarship from Pondicherry University in recognition of her academic excellence.
