Updates of Convocation 2026
12th Convocation – Schedule and Important Instructions
This is to inform all concerned that the 12th Convocation of the Institute is scheduled to be held on 06 June 2026 (Saturday).
The following schedule and instructions are notified for information and compliance by all eligible graduands:
- Registration for Convocation: The registration for the convocation is being planned across two days for your convenience:
- Students are encouraged to complete their Convocation registration on 04 June 2026 to avoid any last-minute inconvenience or delay.
- Attendance in the rehearsal is mandatory for all graduands intending to receive their degrees in physical mode during the Convocation ceremony.
- Rehearsal for Convocation: A rehearsal for the Convocation ceremony will be conducted on 05 June 2026 (Friday) (Lecture Hall Complex-I, Room No.LHC 110).
Please note that the convocation rehearsal is also mandatory for all students. The rehearsal schedule is as follows:
PG Students: Rehearsal commences at 2:30 PM. Students are requested to be seated by 2:15 PM.
UG Students: Rehearsal commences at 4:00 PM. Students are requested to be seated by 3:45 PM.

Please find attached the seating layout for tomorrow's convocation rehearsal. Kindly identify your seat by simply searching for your roll numbers in the layout. Kindly note down your seat number or row/column from the layout. We have put stickers for seat numbers on the chairs in the hall. Seat number for a chair will be on the white & orange (both have the same number) stickers pasted on the left side of the chair when the student sits. Students SHOULD NOT follow the seat number written at the back of the chairs in permanent ink. Only follow the seat numbers written on the stickers. We request you to not tear or remove these stickers as they will be utilised on convocation day.
- Attendance in the rehearsal is mandatory for all graduands intending to receive their degrees in physical mode during the Convocation ceremony.
- Convocation Ceremony – Regular PG Programmes and Ph.D.: The Convocation ceremony for all regular Postgraduate Programmes including Ph.D. will be held in the first half of the day on 06 June 2026.
- Convocation Ceremony – Regular UG Programmes: The Convocation ceremony for all regular Undergraduate Programmes will be held in the second half of the day on 06 June 2026.
- Mandatory Dress Code: The following dress code is mandatory for all participants during the Convocation Ceremony. The same must be arranged by the graduands themselves:
- Male: Plain White Kurta Pajama (सादा सफेद कुर्ता पायजामा)
- Female: Plain White Kurta Salwar (सादा सफेद सलवार कुर्ता )
- Important Instructions
- Participation in Convocation
- Merely providing consent through the Google Form does not confirm participation in the Convocation ceremony. Completion of the registration process and attendance in the rehearsal are mandatory for participation in person.
- Graduands are advised to plan their travel accordingly to ensure timely arrival. No exceptions shall be made in case of non-compliance with the above instructions.
- Graduation Requirement and No Dues
- Students who have successfully completed all academic requirements, including submission of the required project reports, thesis, dissertation, etc., shall have their graduation requirements officially confirmed online by the respective Batch Faculty Advisor, DUGC/DPGC/DRC, and Department, with final approval from the concerned Head of Department (HoD).
- Only students who have completed all graduation requirements, cleared all dues, paid the prescribed Convocation fee, and completed final document verification shall be eligible to be convocated and issued the degree/diploma certificate.
- This notice shall not be treated as proof of award of degree or confirmation of convocation eligibility.
- No Exception for Inclusion of Name After Registration Closure
- After closure of Convocation registration on 05 June 2026, the Office of Academic Affairs shall prepare the final list of graduates receiving degrees in person and share the same with the respective HoDs and Faculty Advisors.
- The final list shall also be used to confirm seat allocation for each graduate in coordination with the Convocation organizing team by 12:00 PM on 05 June 2026.
- The list shall be frozen by 12:00 PM on 05 June 2026 to facilitate necessary arrangements by the Office of Academic Affairs.
- This finalized list shall be used during the Convocation rehearsal by the Faculty Advisor. Since the degree distribution will be conducted simultaneously from both sides of the stage, attendance in the rehearsal is mandatory to confirm seating arrangements and understand the process of receiving the degree.
- No request for inclusion of names in the physical registration list shall be entertained after 12:00 PM on 05 June 2026.
- Faculty Advisors shall take attendance of students at the specified reporting time during both the rehearsal and the Convocation ceremony. Students reporting late may have their names removed from the on-stage degree distribution list. In such cases, the degree may be collected later from the Office of Academic Affairs after completion of the Convocation ceremony.
- Convocation Hall and Guest Arrangements
- Convocation Day is a significant occasion for graduands and their families. However, due to the magnitude, time-sensitive nature of the ceremony, and limited seating capacity in the Convocation Hall, only graduands scheduled for the respective session shall be permitted entry into the Convocation Hall.
- The final list shall also be used to confirm seat allocation for each graduate in coordination with the Convocation organizing team by 12:00 PM on 05 June 2026.
- Arrangements for live streaming of the ceremony shall be made in other lecture halls within the building (except Convocation Hall) for accompanying guests, subject to limited seating availability.
- Graduands are requested to plan their travel and accompanying arrangements accordingly.
- Degree Dispatch for In-Absentia Graduands
- The Institute shall dispatch degrees to graduates who are unable to attend the Convocation ceremony and receive their degrees in absentia through a designated postal arrangement.
- Applicable postage and handling charges, if any, shall be borne by the concerned graduate.
- Participation in Convocation
4th June 2026 - 2.00 PM to 8.00 PM
5th June 2026 - 8.30 AM to 11.45 AM
For your convenience, registration will be organized in different classrooms of LHC-I and LHC-II according to your program. Please refer to the attached sheet and report to the appropriate registration site on time.
Convocation registration is mandatory for all graduating students. If you have already arrived on campus, please ensure that you complete your registration by 10:00 PM today the timings for the same have extended.

Please note that dinner for the graduand + 1 accompanying person is included in the convocation fee. Additional dinner passes, if needed, may be purchased at the registration counter for Rs. 520/ per pass.

Detailed instructions regarding reporting time, venue arrangements, registration procedure, and other ceremonial guidelines shall be updated on the 12th Convocation 2026 website. Therefore, all concerned students are advised to regularly visit the website for the latest updates and information.
*Important Note:
- Rehearsal is mandatory for all graduands intending to receive their degrees in physical mode during the Convocation ceremony.
- The jacket size submitted by the graduating student through the Google Form shared earlier by the Office of Academic Affairs shall be treated as final and will not be changed under any circumstances.
