Office of R&D
The Office of R&D provides specialized administrative and managerial support for the operation of Sponsored Research Projects, Consultancy Projects and other R&D related activities of the Institute. The Office of R&D facilitates interaction with national and international agencies supporting research & development. Also, it promotes academia-industry interactions and collaboration with larger R&D laboratories, and liaises between Institute and funding agencies. Further, it supports Faculty Members in filing of patents and documenting IPR generated through research activity of the Institute. The Office of R&D facilitates the following:
(a)  Management of Projects
  1.  Registration of Sponsored, Consulting and Institute Projects, raising Invoice/Grants-in-aid bill, receiving funds, prepare utilization certificates;
  2. Appointment, extension and resignations of Project Staff Members; payment of salary;
  3. Work related to Fellowships;
  4. Project related purchases, imports and their payments;
  5. Management of temporary advances to PIs and Project Staff Members, settlement of advances;
  6. Payment for work assignments; and
  7. Preparation of cheques, bank reconciliation, accounts preparation, management of investments.
(b) Management of Office
  1. Preparation and publishing of booklets (hard and soft copies) related to Office of R&D, newsletter;
  2. Institute’s research magazine;
  3. Developing & maintaining database of R&D contacts in Industry, Academia and R&D Organisations in India and abroad;
  4. Designing and preparing R&D flyers of different Departments and laboratories of the Institute; and
  5. Managing MOUs, IPRs, Corporate Communications, Events and Relationships.
(c) Industry Liaison
  1. Industry R&D, Consultancy and Extension Services;
  2. Patents and Technology Transfer;
  3. Industry Internship for Faculty Members; and
  4. Industry Interaction.
