In pursuit of its philanthropic endeavors, the social outreach branch of the EdTech vertical includes volunteering activities that support local schools around the IIT Jodhpur campus and in Jodhpur city. This includes forming student-faculty teams that conduct awareness activities, hands-on demonstrations, classroom activities, lab visits, quiz contests, science expo, etc. in local schools to promote careers in STEM among female students, especially in government schools with limited resources (in association with our IEEE WIE Pre University Outreach Program). This may also include volunteering as online teachers and/or creating high-quality demonstration-based video content of STEM subjects in Indian languages in collaboration with NGOs that can cater to the requirements of thousands of rural students through their networks.

As a starting point, the Centre is attempting to address current shortcomings faced by schools in nearby villages. The Centre plans to create volunteer teams to assist in volunteer teaching, audio- or video-based programs, classroom activities, and a novel education model for rural education.

We invite participation and collaboration from organizations and NGOs to effect this change in the rural education landscape.
