Ms. Monika Sharma, PhD Scholar at the MedTech Centre, IIT-AIIMS Jodhpur, has been awarded the IBRO Exchange Fellowship 2026

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Monika Sharma, PhD Scholar at the MedTech Centre, IIT-AIIMS Jodhpur, has been awarded the IBRO Exchange Fellowship 2026 by the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO).

The IBRO Exchange Fellowship is a prestigious international program designed to support early-career neuroscientists from Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and North America by enabling them to undertake goal-directed research visits at leading laboratories across the world. The program promotes international scientific collaboration, advanced training, and knowledge exchange in neuroscience.

In 2026, IBRO received applications from 28 countries worldwide. Following a rigorous evaluation process, only 20 fellows were selected for funding. The awardees represent 16 countries and regions and will conduct research exchanges in internationally renowned laboratories across multiple regions of the world.

As part of this fellowship, Ms. Sharma will undertake a research visit at Ulster University, United Kingdom. Her fellowship project, entitled “Integrating Gene Expression with Oscillatory Brain Networks Using EEG–MEG Analysis in Psychiatric Disorders," aims to explore the relationship between genetic signatures and large-scale brain network dynamics using advanced neuroimaging and computational neuroscience approaches.

The research will be jointly guided by Dr. Pankaj Yadav (Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering, IIT Jodhpur), Dr. Navratan Suthar (Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS Jodhpur), and Dr. Saugat Bhattacharyya (School of Computing, Engineering & Intelligent Systems, Ulster University, UK).

This achievement highlights the growing impact of interdisciplinary neuroscience research being conducted at the IIT-AIIMS Jodhpur MedTech Centre and strengthens international research collaborations between India and the United Kingdom.

The Institute congratulates Ms. Monika Sharma on this remarkable accomplishment and wishes her success in her fellowship and future research endeavors.
