About:

Dr. Raychoudhury, an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering at IIT Jodhpur. She has a wide range of experience in water quality, remediation, and management related issues, starting from laboratory experiment to numerical modelling to real-field scenario. Prior to joining to IIT Jodhpur she was working as an Assistant Professor (2015-2021) in IIT Patna and BITS-Pilani Hyderabad (2014-2015).

After her M.Tech. (2005) from IIT Kanpur, she joined International Water Management Institute (IWMI)-Tata, as a Research Consultant (2005-2007). During her stay at IWMI-Tata she got wide exposure about real-field scenario on water quality related issues. Her research during Ph.D. (2011) at McGill University, Canada, and PostDoc at Technische Universitat Berlin (2012-2014), Germany was mainly focused on the application of advanced nanoparticle-based techniques for water quality control.

Her research motivation is towards linking the real-field water contamination issues with the laboratory based advanced solution. Furthermore, she believes that it is equally important to investigate the possible environmental implication of any novel technology before adopting it. She leads the group in the same direction towards achieving a more sustainable solution for the water quality sector.
