Sumit Parvate
Assistant ProfessorAbout
Dr. Sumit Parvate earned his Ph.D. in Polymer & Process Engineering from IIT Roorkee, where his research focused on the design and fabrication of multifunctional polymeric microcapsules for thermal management applications. As a recipient of the Commonwealth Split-site Fellowship, he conducted a part of his doctoral research at Loughborough University, UK, gaining international research experience in polymer and soft matter systems. Following his doctorate, he carried out postdoctoral research at University College London (UCL), UK, with a focus on radiative cooling coatings and passive thermal management technologies. He received his M.Tech. in Polymer & Surface Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, and his B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
Dr. Parvate brings over six years of combined experience spanning academic research and the polymer and specialty chemicals industry. He has held research, development, and production roles across the paints, coatings, adhesives, and polymer industries, both in India and internationally.
