                    Swati Jindal
Assistant ProfessorBiography
Dr. Swati Jindal obtained her Master’s degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad in 2016. She pursued her doctoral studies at the IIT Kanpur under the supervision of Prof. J. N. Moorthy, receiving her Ph.D. in 2022. During her doctoral research, she focused on the design and synthesis of luminescent metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) for analyte sensing applications.
Following her Ph.D., she joined the research group of Prof. Mohamed Eddaoudi at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2022, where she broadened her research scope to include the development of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and their applications in sensing, energy storage, and optical devices.
In September 2025, Dr. Jindal joined the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur, as an Assistant Professor.
Research
Our
research group focuses on the rational design and synthesis of organic building
blocks to construct functionalized porous materials, including metal–organic
frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs). These crystalline
materials offer highly ordered pores, tunable functionality, accessible surface
active sites, and large surface areas, making them promising candidates for
diverse advanced applications.
We
are particularly interested in developing hybrid porous functionalized
frameworks (HPFFs) that integrate the advantages of both organic and inorganic
components. Through controlled molecular engineering and structure–property
correlation studies, our research aims to explore these materials for
environmental remediation, photocatalytic hydrogen evolution, energy storage,
and optical applications.
