Dr. Vineeth Vijayan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur and a Faculty Affiliate at the Rishabh Centre for Innovation and Research in Clean Energy. He obtained his Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur (2023), M.Tech. from the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram (2013), and B.E. from Anna University, Chennai (2010). From November 2023 to April 2025, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Energy Systems Research, Tennessee Tech University, USA.

His research focuses on the operational planning of active electric distribution networks, including renewable energy integration, demand-side management, Volt/VAR control, and topology optimization. His emerging interests include grid-scale energy storage systems, e-mobility, cyber-resilience, and quantum applications in power systems.

Dr. Vijayan has received several notable recognitions, including the Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Medal for best all-round post-graduating student of IIT Kanpur, the Trilok Chandra Goel Memorial Gold Medal for research contributing to sustainable energy, and the IIT Kanpur Excellence Award for leadership in student affairs (all in 2023). He was also awarded the IIT Kanpur Gymkhana Blues (2022), the DST AWSAR Award (2021), and the IEEE India Council Outstanding Volunteer Award (2020).

He has published research in reputed venues, including IEEE Transactions and leading international conferences. An active IEEE volunteer, he has served as Secretary of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (Asia-Pacific Region, Region 10) and as Chair of the Educational and Technical Activities Subcommittee of the IEEE PES Global Student Chapters Committee.
