About

Anupama Mohan joined the School of Liberal Arts in Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur as Associate Professor of English in December 2022. A university first-rank-holder and gold medallist from Delhi University, she completed her PhD with distinction from the University of Toronto. She is the author of the MLA First Book Prize-nominated monograph Utopia and the Village in South Asian Literatures (Palgrave Macmillan UK, 2012) and the Editor of "Literature and Transmodernity: Of Worlds in Contact" (Brill; July 2025 & Jan 2026) and "Maritime Transmodernities: Literatures of the Indian Ocean" (Postcolonial Text, 2019). Her critical essays have featured in peer-reviewed journals such as South Asian History and Culture, Asian Review of World History, University of Toronto Quarterly, Indian Theatre Journal, and Economic and Political Weekly, among others. She was the 2021 Writer-in-Residence at the Samyukta Research Foundation, Thiruvananthapuram, and the 2024 Landhaus Fellow at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, University of Munich, Germany. Anupama is the author of the novel Where Mayflies Live Forever (Picador, 2022), the poetry collection, Twenty Odd Love Poems (The Writer's Workshop, 2008), and several short stories featured in print and online venues.
