Dr. Tekcham Gishan Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. His research focuses on structural testing, numerical modelling, and the design of steel structures.
His broader research interests include high-strength steel, tubular structures, concrete-filled steel tubes, fire-resistant structural design, corrosion, retrofitting of steel structures, hybrid structural systems, fatigue and fracture mechanics, and sustainable infrastructure. His expertise contributes to advancements in structural engineering and the development of fire-resistant and earthquake-resilient infrastructure, ultimately aiding in the creation of safe and reliable design methods for steel structures.
Dr. Singh earned his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2019 and completed his B.Tech. from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka in 2013. Before joining IIT Jodhpur in 2021, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 2019 to 2021. He also gained industry experience as an Assistant Engineer at Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. from 2013 to 2014.
As part of his professional engagements, Dr. Singh serves as an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports, a journal published by the Nature Portfolio.
