Chandana N is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental and Sustainability Engineering (DESE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. A trained civil engineer with over a decade of interdisciplinary experience in environmental engineering, sustainability, and urban systems, she earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where she received the prestigious Pairmala Rao Award for the Best Ph.D. Thesis in CTARA in 2022 for her work on faecal sludge management and onsite sanitation systems in India. Her research integrates sustainable water and wastewater management, circular economy approaches, environmental pollution assessment, resilient infrastructure, and AI-enabled urban transformation. She is currently leading multiple high-impact research and consultancy projects on waste-to-energy systems, sewage treatment infrastructure, emerging contaminants, urban water sustainability, self-healing bacterial concrete, and digital twins for sustainable cities, in collaboration with government agencies, industries, and international partners. Her work has resulted in several peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and policy-relevant solutions aimed at advancing sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure in rapidly urbanizing regions.
