Dr. Sk Md Hasan is an Assistant Professor in Materials Engineering at IIT Jodhpur. He completed his Ph.D. and M.Tech. in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, and B.E. in Metallurgy & Materials Engineering at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur. 

Before joining IIT Jodhpur, he worked as post-doctoral research fellow at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, where he worked on the prediction of austenite stability in medium-Mn automotive steels. Dr. Hasan has also worked at the R & D and Scientific Services division of Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur, where he was involved in the failure investigation of engineering components occurred during service conditions. 

His research group primarily focuses on:

·         Advanced steel design through computations & experimentations;

·         Thermodynamics & kinetics of phase transformations;

·         Processing-microstructure-performance correlations in steels;

·         Deformation & failure mechanisms in materials;

·         Wear and Tribology.

Some of the courses which Dr. Hasan has taught to the UG and PG students include: Advanced Phase Transformations, Diffusion in Solids, Casting & Solidification, Physical Metallurgy, Structure of Materials etc.
