Assistant ProfessorAbout
Dr. Jitendra Kumar is a Joint
Faculty member in the Department of Physics and the Department of Materials
Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. His research focuses
on advanced semiconductor materials and thin-film photovoltaic technologies for
sustainable energy applications.
He completed his B.Tech. in
Electronics and Communication Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical
University, Lucknow, in 2009 and his M.Tech. in Nanotechnology from the Indian
Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2011. He received his Ph.D. from the Indian
Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2019, where his research focused on the
synthesis and characterization of solution-processed Cu₂ZnSnS₄ thin films for
solar cell applications.
Following his Ph.D., he worked as
an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT Delhi (2019–2020), focusing on
inorganic perovskite nanocubes (CsPbIxBr3−x) for photovoltaic applications.
From 2020 to 2023, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Ben-Gurion University of
the Negev, Israel, working on (BixSb1−x)₂Se₃-based solar cells. Between August
2023 and April 2025, he served as an INSPIRE Faculty at IIT Dhanbad, where he
led research on BaZrS₃ thin-film solar cells. In early 2025, he was a Marie
Curie Fellow at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL).
His research group focuses on
developing advanced materials for energy applications, particularly inorganic
thin-film solar cells, with emphasis on materials design, device fabrication,
and performance optimization for next-generation photovoltaic technologies.
