Akshay Moudgil

Dr. Akshay Moudgil is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, leading cutting-edge research on next-generation electronic sensor systems. His work spans across sensors, hybrid transistors, printed and wearable electronics, point-of-care bioelectronic devices, and optoelectronics, with a strong emphasis on field-deployable intelligent sensing technologies for healthcare, defense, and environmental applications.

Dr. Moudgil earned his Ph.D. from IIT Delhi under the prestigious Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Fellowship, awarded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Before joining IIT Jodhpur, he served as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, where he worked extensively on the development of wearable biosensors utilizing state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities (class 10/100) and advanced semiconductor device fabrication techniques.

He has substantial expertise in microelectronic device fabrication and characterization and has developed novel semiconductor architectures and flexible electronics for various sensing platforms. His collaborative research network includes renowned institutions such as the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, A*STAR Singapore, University of Massachusetts (UMass)Technical University of Munich (TUM), and industry partner Insectta Pte. Ltd., Singapore.

Dr. Moudgil has published over 35 peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals, including ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, and IEEE Electron Device LettersHe is also a contributing author to a book chapter, holds a patent in biosensor technologies, and has been honored with Research Excellence, Teaching Excellence, and International Travel Awards by IIT Delhi, IIT Jodhpur, and CSIR, respectively.

He actively serves the academic community as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology, ACS Nano, Advanced Materials, IEEE Sensors Journal, Sensors and Actuators B, and Nano-Micro Letters. He has also reviewed for international conferences, including IEEE NANO 2020 (Canada) and IEEE NANO 2023 (South Korea).

Dr. Moudgil is a professional member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI].
