Tushar Shinde represented India at 19th World Festival of Youth and Students at Sochi, Russia

Tushar Shinde, Ph.D. Student, Department of Electrical Engineering, represented India at the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students held at Sochi, Russia, during 13-22 October 2017. Students and youth from across the world met at this event to discuss the role of modern youth in global issues concerning them and the world at large. The week-long festival was attended by 25,000 participants with diverse background  from across 185 countries across the globe. Tushar Shinde was a part of the 118-member Indian Youth delegation of students from IITs, IIMs, AIIMSs, NITs and IISERs, Scientists from ISRO, singers, dancers, entrepreneurs and youth leaders from across India. The Government of India sponsored this visit and the Government of Russia hosted the delegates.
Tushar Shinde participated in youth foresight team discussions on topics, like environment and health, technologies of the future, global politics and its agenda, designing the future: architecture and design, economics for future development, global culture, civil development platform, industries of future, aviation of the future, the global rail network, new media, and the future of science and global education. His team consisting of participants from different countries came up with an idea of “Global Platform for Mentors-Volunteers” for free access to education. The manifesto of the discussions on this idea was sent to the Office of thePresident of Russia.
