Candidates with have a valid CAT score need to fill an online application form available on the institute website (https://oa.iitj.ac.in/onlineMBA/).

The admission follows two-step process

(1) Shortlisting, for an online personal interview, based on the percentile of candidates in the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs
(2) Final list for admission based on 80% (CAT Score) + 15 % (Interview) + 5% (work experience)

 

a. Initial Shortlisting

An initial shortlist shall be done based on the overall percentile in CAT. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for Personal Interview (PI)

 

b. Interview Process

Personal Interviews (PI) is proposed to be conducted online during March and April 2020. The candidates would be asked to indicate their preferred slot (date & time) for the online interview (through Webex/ Zoom/Skype etc) while filling the application. Each shortlisted candidate would be interviewed by a panel of one or more experts.

 c. Work Experience

Following weightage will be used for work experience (post-degree)

A Consolidated Merit List (CML) would be prepared on the basis of following components and their corresponding weights:

 e. Special provisions:

 
  • To encourage gender diversity, extra 10 marks will be awarded to female candidates.
  • Candidates having CAT percentile >98 will be exempted from the Personal Interview and will be considered for direct admission to the MBA program.

 

 f. Intake

 Total intake every year would be approximately 68. The table below shows seat break up for one section against each category adhering to Central Government Reservation Policy currently in vogue

In case of large number of good applications, school may consider running two sections in parallel by admitting more students provided that IITJ infrastructure and capacity allows the same.
