The Institute offers eight (8) services through its Computer Center. These are:

1.  FTP
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer files from one host to another host over a TCP-based network, such as the internet. Users may download software for academic purpose (Click Here).

Light-weight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is a centralized authentication server used for online service portals, like Online Academic Registration System (OARS), Faculty Academic Profile (FAP), Personal Website Hosting, and Online Fee Payment.To change password please Click Here.

3. HPC
The new 42-compute node with a total of 528 cores and high-speed Infiniband network with a peak performance of 6 TF High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster facilitates high-end computational research in the Institute covering many areas of science and engineering. This facility is specifically used for the following purposes:
  (a)  High Performance Computing with several software;
  (b) Parallel programming under Linux using CUDA;
  (c) Parallel computing with C, C++, Fortran and Intel compiler.
The technical details of this HPC facility are:
  (1) 5 Master nodes
  (2) 42 Compute nodes
  (3) 2 Compute node with tesla
  (4) 2 NFS server
  (5) 2 Backup Server
  (6) 2 IO server
  (7) 2 Parallel File System Server
  (8) 80TB Storage
  (9) 5 Infiniband Switch
  (10) 1 SAN switch
  (11)  1 Gigabit Switch

4. Web hosting
This is personal web hosting facility for Faculty Members, Students, as well as for Academic Staff Members of IIT Jodhpur. Members can host their personal website at IITJ server (http://home.iitj.ac.in) by following the steps mentioned here (Click Here). Thus created website can be viewed at home.iitj.ac.in/~user where “user” is the email id of the user in iitj domain.

5. Network Connectivity
The Institute functions through the following Wireless & LAN connectivity established in its campuses.
  (1) 802.11 b/g/n Wireless and 1 Gbps wired LAN at Academic Campus.
  (2) 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN connectivity at PG Residential Complex.
  (3) 802.11 b/g/n Wireless and 1 Gbps wired LAN connectivity at Residential Complex for all residents.

6. VPN
The IITJ Mobile VPN (Virtual private Network) with SSL client is a software application that is installed on a remote computer. The client makes a secure connection from the remote computer to your protected network through an unsecured network, such as the Internet. 7. EduRoam
This service enables access of Internet when a member of IIT Jodhpur community is travelling out like to any other IIT, NIT and international location, via personal internet access user ID and password. For instructions to set up this service, Click Here.

8. News Group
News Group is same as a forum or an online discussion group. On the Internet, there are several thousands of newsgroups covering every conceivable interest. To view and post messages to a newsgroup, a news reader (a program that runs on the computer and connects to a news server on the Internet) is required.
