Faculty 1

Prof. Sangeeta Sahney

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME) at IIT Jodhpur. Born in a transitional moment in our institutional history, SME aims to produce socially-conscious management professionals and leaders proficient in both technological and interpersonal relations.

SME offers programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels, including but not limited to its MBA in General Management and its flagship Tech-MBA degrees. The Minor in Management and Minor in Entrepreneurship that SME offers to extra-departmental undergraduate students serves the wider interests of IIT Jodhpur. The PhD program aims to nurture and produce business and management researchers and academics, with the specially curated courses, offering academic rigor and business relevance. Through its tie-ups with several leading business schools in the US, SME also offers dual degree programs whereby MBA students complete their first year in IIT-Jodhpur and have their pick of schools for their second year. The students also have the opportunity to pursue internships and full-time employment at our partner institutes. Our current international partners include the School of Business at the University at Albany, State University of New York, Brandeis International Business School, Brandeis University, Boston; and the School of Business, George Washington University, Washington.

SME has a dedicated cadre of core faculty drawn from the best Indian institutions, as well as a host of luminaries drawn from both Indian and foreign academia and industry serving as Professors of Practice, Adjunct Faculty, Visiting Professors, and Scholars-in-Residence. SME’s advisory council similarly consists of industrial and academic veterans and stalwarts. The intellectual giants helming this institute and serving as guides and advisors for its assiduous student body are well on their way to making the School of Management and Entrepreneurship a nationally- and internationally-recognised centre of management and entrepreneurial studies.

The SME is forging ahead on its path to empower and enable a new generation of entrepreneurs, managers and academics. As the new Head I welcome you become part of our journey, as a student, member of faculty, campus partner, collaborator, or well-wisher.
