Introduction
IIT Jodhpur invites applications for admission to the MBA in FinTech and Cybersecurity offered by the School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME).
The MBA in FinTech and Cybersecurity is a unique program offered by IIT Jodhpur. The courses will be taught with an application-oriented pedagogy with case studies and examples. The courses are intended to build a foundation in the management discipline, with specialized and advanced courses in FinTech and Cybersecurity. The students opting for Mode 1 will get a dual degree (two degrees) MBA in FinTech and Cybersecurity from IIT Jodhpur and MS in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics from SUNY Albany, USA.
This program is offered in following 2 modes:
- Mode 1: 1st year at SME IITJ and 2nd year at SUNY Albany
- Mode 2: Both 1st year and 2nd year at SME IITJ
Eligibility Criterion
- A bachelor’s degree of a minimum 4-year duration in engineering or technology awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
- A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent in the qualifying degree. A relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e., a minimum of 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e., a minimum 5.50 on a 10-point scale) for the SC/ST/PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates.
- M. Tech. with first class or 6.00/10 CGPA (5.50 for SC/ST/PwD) are also eligible.
- A Valid Common Admission Test 2023 (CAT) or Valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
- A valid CAT 2023 score is exempted for the candidates having M. Tech. with GATE.
- A candidate should have had at least 2 years of full-time work experience at the time of applying to the program. The experience should be in a relevant industry.
For International Applicants
- Valid GRE/GMAT Score.
- Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a university degree recognized by the UGC) in engineering or technology discipline with first class or 60% marks earned in their degree from a recognized/reputed University.
- A candidate should have had at least two years of full-time work experience at the time of applying to the program. The experience should be in a relevant industry.

Admission Process
The admission process for MBA in FinTech and Cybersecurity program shall be in the following stages:
a) Application procedure
b) Initial Shortlisting
An initial shortlisting shall be done on the Composite Score. Composite Score will be calculated with due weights to:
- CAT/GATE Score
- Work Experience
- Gender Diversity
Applicants will be shortlisted based on the composite score. Relaxation for all categories according to the Ministry of Education, Government of India norms will be followed when determining the cut-offs.
c) Final Selection
- Candidates from all categories shortlisted based on the Composite Score shall be called for a personal interview (through virtual mode).
- The final selection list will be prepared based on the performance in Personal Interviews and Composite Scores. Relaxation for all categories according to the norms of the Ministry of Education, GOI will be followed when determining the cut-offs.
d) Regarding Work Experience
- Work experience should be exclusively in the field of relevant industry such as IT, Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Cyber Security, and associated areas related to Financial Sectors. Work experience other than these specified here will not be considered as the relevant experience. No consideration will be given to the time spent in an internship.
- Work experience of more or equal to 15 days in a month will be counted as 1 month and for less than 15 days, it will be counted as zero.
- Experience letter/offer letter, 1st and last month salary slips should be produced at the time of interview. Failing to do so will lead to disqualification from the entire selection process.
- Final discretion in this regard lies with the institute authorities in terms of determining the type, level, and extent of work experience.
- Candidate should have 2 years of work experience at the time of applying to the program. Candidate should be a full-time employee at the time of admission.
- Work experience in coaching center, working in self-proprietary, small-scale businesses like retails stores, any Kirana stores, NGOs, Petrol Pump/Gas Station will not be considered at all.
Applicants shortlisted for the admission process are required to bring the final submitted application form duly signed along with a copy of all educational testimonials at the time of admission.

Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of INR 1200 for the Unreserved, OBC-NCL, and EWS categories, and INR 600 for the SC/ST/PwD category will be charged.
Program Fee
Total Number of Credits: 66 + 2 (non-graded)
Total program Fee: INR 8,25,000 + INR 50,000 (Student Development Fund)
Program fee to be collected includes tuition and student development fund. Semester-wise split (based upon a rate of INR 12500 per credit) is given below:
- Summer II Term (June-July): INR 1.25 Lakhs + INR 50,000 towards the Student Development Fund
- Monsoon Semester (July/Aug-Dec): INR 2.75 Lakhs
- Spring Semester* (Jan-May/June): INR 2.25 Lakhs
- Monsoon Semester* (July/Aug-Dec): INR 2.00 Lakhs
*Students opting to go to SUNY Albany, USA in the second year will need to pay the above-indicated fee in addition to the fee at SUNY Albany. This aligns with the MoU for our existing international dual degree program.
- Dining fee will be charged separately from the students. In addition, institute overheads such as semester fee, admission fee, etc. will also need to be paid by the students. These components are additional to the program fee as mentioned above.
- Students belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories are exempted from paying the tuition fee as per Government of India norms. However, they are required to pay the Student Development Fund and other charges which will be applicable.
