Prof. Mahesh Kumar received Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Prize in recognition of his outstanding academic contributions on the occasion of conferment of the award certificates in Berlin on 29 June 2023. Award was given by Prof. Dr Robert Schlögl, President of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Reception was held by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Schloss Bellevue, Park. The Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Prize is awarded annually by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to 20 internationally renowned scientists from outside Germany. The prize is regarded as one of the most prestigious German research awards to foreign scientists. Professor Kumar is hosted by Professor Michael Saliba at the University of Stuttgart.
