Sunidhi Dayam, a Ph.D. student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering designs Face Mask Shield

Sunidhi Dayam,  a Ph.D. student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, working under the guidance of Dr. Kaushal A. Desai, has come up with a face shield design using the scrap material available at home. The scrap materials used are transparent sheets, foam, double-sided tape and elastic, which is usually readily available at home. Her design has been appreciated by the Collector and Doctors of Nagaur district. The Collector released the face shield design during a press conference on 03 April 2020. Now the design is being sent to the local vendors, and she will guide them for large scale production. Sunidhi has already provided 40 face shields to the district hospital. Using this design, face shield masks can be manufactured at any small shop or even at home by a layman. While Sunidhi is trying to share her design with other District Collectors, it will be of more benefit, if this design can be shared on a large scale. Currently, the design and procedure to make a face mask shield are sent to three districts of Rajasthan (Ajmer, Alwar, and Churu)
