The Regional Young Investigators' Meeting - West was organized at IIT Jodhpur between 31 October 2019 and 02 November 2019. The event was jointly organized by IndiaBioscience, IIT Jodhpur, AIIMS Jodhpur, IIT Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad University, with the aim of providing a networking platform for intellectual exchange among young scientists and researchers across different scientific disciplines in the western region.

| Day1: | ||
| The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Sushmita Jha, Associate Professor, Department of Bioscience & Bioengineering followed by Prof. Santanu Chaudhury, Director, IIT Jodhpur, delivering the opening remarks. Dr. Smita Jain, Executive Director, IndiaBioscience presented an Introduction to "Crafting Your Career" followed by "Crafting Your Career" workshop by IndiaBioscience team consisiting of Dr. Smita Jain, Dr. Lakshmi Ganesan and Dr. Shreya Ghosh. The workshop was attended by more than 100 participants. |

| Day2: | ||
| The day began with opening remarks by Prof. Santanu Chaudhury, IIT Jodhpur followed by a talk on "Engaging Communities, Enabling Change" by Dr. Smita Jain, Executive Director, IndiaBioscience. The event included a keynote talk by Dr. Mitali Mukherji, IGIB followed by a sequence of plenary talks. Plenary speakers included Rama Jayasunder (AIIMS Delhi), Ramesh K. Mehta (Mehta & Mehta Associates), Santanu Chaudhury (IIT Jodhpur) and Jamuna Rajeswaran (NIMHANS). Panel discussions on "Women in STEM" and "Opportunities in Industry" concluded the events for the day. |

| Day3: | ||
| The final day of the event began with keynote talks delivered by Dr. Vijay Chandru, Co-Founder & Chairman, Strand Life Sciences and by Prof. L S Shashidhara, Ashoka University and IISER Pune, followed by plenary talk by Prof. Dulal Panda, Chair Professor, Department of BSBE, IIT Bombay. The event included 1.5 minute teaser presentations on various topics namely 'Artificial intelligence and Computational Biology', 'Bioengineering', 'Materials Biology and Chemical Biology', 'Cognitive Science and Psychology' and 'Integrative approaches for disease biology in medical sciences'. Following the teaser presentations, a poster session was organized and research talks were presented on the topic 'Biology through an inter-disciplinary lens' by researchers from the interdisciplinary research platform (IDRP) in Smart health care of IIT Jodhpur, BITS Pilani and AIIMS Jodhpur. Presenters included Dr. Sushmita Paul, Dr. Sumit Kalra, Dr. Samanwita Pal from IIT Jodhpur, Dr. Prabhat Kumar Jha, Head, Department of BSBE, BITS Pilani, Dr. Abir Bhattacharyya, Dr. K.R. Ravi and Dr. Sushmita Jha. Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Girish Sahni, Former Director General CSIR and secretary DSIR. The three-day programme concluded with prize distribution event and a gala dinner. |
