Mahesh Kumar chosen a Member, Global Young AcademyThe Global Young Academy (GYA), Halle, Germany, has selected Mahesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, as a Member of the Academy. The GYA, consisting of 200 members, provides a rallying point for outstanding young scientists from around the world. The GYA was founded by the IAP: The Global Network of Science Academies and the World Economic Forum. Members of the GYA come together to address topics of global importance and are passionate about the role of science in creating a better world. Members are elected based on the excellence of their science and their commitment to research. They are elected for 4-year terms, after which they move to alumni status. All members are expected to actively contribute to the organisation’s goals and activities. According to the GYA, they are at the vanguard of the international scientists’ movement and form a strong voice to impact global development for more effective science around the world. The GYA is developing a number of projects aimed at improving the effectiveness of science, including in developing countries, by building linkages between young scientists from different countries. |
