Ms. Sunidhi Dayam, a doctoral student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from IIT Jodhpur and resident of Nagaur in Rajasthan, received Appreciation from India Book Records 2021 for developing face shields using scrap materials available at home during the initial days of Covid-19 during April 2020. Sunidhi developed an indigenous method to make a face shield using transparent sheets, foam, double-sided tape, and elastic bands readily available at home. She distributed 300 face shields to the Nagaur district hospital and the local police of Nagaur, as confirmed on Sept 1, 2021. India Book of Records is an undisputed curator and the custodian of Indian Records, encouraging pushing the human boundaries to reach a yearning for the collective good of Mankind and overcoming individual limitations. Sunidhi is currently pursuing doctoral research in Smart Manufacturing under the supervision of Dr. Kaushal A Desai, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
