Title of the talk: Structure-based drug discovery: A brief background and current trends
About the speaker: Dr. Debanu Das is a Co-founder & CEO for Accelero Biostructures and XPose Therapeutics Inc., USA. He finished his 5 year integrated MS from IIT Kanpur in Chemistry in 1998. His PhD is from Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey in 2004 where he worked on Protein X-ray Crystallography/Protein-DNA complexes. Later on, he completed his postdoctoral training from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and University of California, Berkeley, where he worked on Protein X-ray Crystallography/Structural Genomics/Membrane Proteins/Transcription Factors. From 2004-2015, he determined the crystal structures of ~150 novel proteins and performed quality control on another ~150 novel structures. He also initiated and managed more than 10 key, external partnerships and collaborations, many of which resulted in significant publications. He has also taken numerous business and professional development courses in the Stanford Continuing Studies Program including startups, business strategy, marketing, law and intellectual property.
