About the speaker: Dr. Mitali Mukherjee is a Chief Scientist, Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, New Delhi. Her research is in the broad area of understanding human genome structure and variation for its application in the discovery of biomarkers for predicting susceptibility to diseases, understanding human phenotypes and adaptations and mapping mutational histories. She has also developed the area of Ayurgenomics for application in precision medicine. Some of her prominent awards include Pushpalata Ranade National Woman Award 2017, VASVIK award for Woman Scientist 2016, Pandit Shiv Nath Sharma Shodh Puruskar for research in Ayurveda 2012, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in Medical Sciences 2010 and DBT Young Women Bioscientist award in 2008.
