Title - High-Five over Wi-Fi: A Tactile Internet Perspective

Abstract: Tactile Internet (TI) is an upcoming technology for transfer of skills enabling many unforeseen network applications, such as telesurgery and telerepair. However, several challenges must be addressed before we realize this promising technology. In this talk, I will present a brief overview of how we (at TU Delft) are improving the first/last mile communication for enabling TI. More specifically, I will discuss our efforts towards making modern Wi-Fi networks TI-ready. 

 

Bio: Vineet Gokhale obtained his Ph.D from the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay. He then worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic. Subsequently, he joined TU Delft as a postdoctoral researcher. His primary research interests are in the area of Tactile Internet, haptics technology, and Wi-Fi
