The publication "Mahogunin Ring Finger-1 (MGRN1), a Multifaceted Ubiquitin Ligase: Recent Unraveling of Neurobiological Mechanisms” was authored by: Arun Upadhyay, Ayeman Amanullah, Deepak Chhangani, Ribhav Mishra, Amit Prasad and Amit Mishra*. The figure illustrates importance of Mahogunin Ring Finger-1 (MGRN1); a E3 ubiquitin ligase enzyme in the cellular protein quality control system and its interaction with different cellular machinery of autophagy system. |
The work explains how MGRN1 participates in the maintenance of cellular proteostasis and a loss in its functions may lead to neurodegenerative and developmental disorders. In the publication, it is described how MGRN1 modulate protein turn-over in different kinds of pathologies such as Huntington’s Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and thus give beneficial functions of this E3 ubiquitin ligase. This can serve in future to identify and characterize novel molecules that plays central role in protein conformational disorders.
