Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science of Technology, Government of India organized 10th Ramalingaswami Fellowship Conclave, Dr. Amit Mishra was invited to his share his experiences and proficiencies associated with a journey from Fellow to Faculty among existing and upcoming Ramalingaswami Fellows in the country. During his fellowship tenure “Dr. Mishra has established a new significant concept on selective E3 ubiquitin ligases those can serve as quality control first line of defense ameliorative measures against multifactorial proteostasis failures implicated in neurodegenerative diseases and imperfect aging”. |
Ramalingaswami Fellowship is conceptualized with the Purpose of attracting highly skilled researchers (Indian Nationals) working overseas in different cutting-edge areas of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bio-engineering/Health Care, Agriculture/ Veterinary Sciences and other allied areas by providing them with an attractive avenue to pursue their own R&D interests in Indian institutions. |
Dr. Mishra has explained how the valuable collaborations with scientists abroad and within country can promote Young Scientist to do an innovative research, which can target basic need of a common person linked with their better health and good living conditions. What are the different bilateral extramural grants provide funding support, which add further cutting edge high-value of current innovation in science. One of the very important feature of which was explained that during collaboration it is an opportunity in the form of an interactive platform for a young scientist to express their thoughts in a network that includes more experienced global scientists and to gain excellent knowledge from these senior scientists. Presented research work carried out by Cellular and Molecular Biology Unit o IIT Jodhpur deciphered the precise molecular mechanisms of E3 ubiquitin ligases and molecular chaperones, their involvement in cellular quality control pathways and overall their effects on cellular homeostasis. |
