National Workshop
Intelligent Multimodal Interfaces

In recent years, multimedia has expanded beyond the scope of its indigenous definition. With the advent of social media and large quantities of multimedia data (e.g., pictures, videos, audio, and computer graphics) can be created in a short time frame. When the multimedia are stored in a networked environment, it can be connected for viewing, sharing, commenting, and storing. The workshop will emphasize on bringing forward various problems and research opportunities in multimedia content extraction and classification, and innovative applications. It will focus on the following sub-areas:
  • Augmented and Virtual Reality
  • Haptic rendering, modeling, and communication
  • Human perception and neuroscience of touch, smell, and taste
  • Human-computer interaction
  • Multimedia Systems and handling
  • Multi-modal analysis for vision problems
  • Handling and management of 3D data
  • Multimedia egocentric analysis
The scientific program includes invited lectures in the above areas by eminent speakers from academia, industry, and R&D organization. It is also aimed to have a poster session which will provide an opportunity for the participant to get valuable feedback from the experts in the area. The workshop would be concluded with a panel discussion on opportunities in multimedia applications.
