Apart from the outstanding technical education that is imparted here, we have access to many other resources that enable us to become well rounded individuals. Students' Council for Holistic Development (SCHoD) is the regulatory body which facilitates & governs all student activities at IIT Rajasthan. With advisory support from the faculty, the SCHoD is run entirely by the students. Students organize and participate in lots of activities, ranging between clubs activities, intra college festivals to inter college festivals.
Nuturing Understanding Technology & Science Council of IIT Rajasthan takes you for an amazing ride into the realm of your imaginations. NUTS encourage new innovations & ideas. NUTS will guide you to think beyond yourself & experience all the wonders of the world; the ones that actually help you. The following clubs function under the NUTS Council:
Programming Club: 1 and 0 just two numbers get the world spinning. The best place for all the coders. Be it ethical hacking, latest applications or pure hardcore code writing, we have it all. From the basic right upto the cool stuff get to learn it all.
Aero Modelling Club: This is the place for u. You will be surprised just how many ways are there to make paper planes. And that's not all, from gliders to RC planes learn and let your creations fly the burning skies.
Electronic Club: The world is getting digitalized This is the place for you to be if you want to stay in the race. Learn about the latest electronic gadgets that are swooping the market. Get involved in making digital clocks, games, sensors and much more.
Animation Club: This club is all about making your creativity go wild and bring life to characters you just dreamt of using advanced tools like 3DS Max, Autodesk Maya and AfterEffects.
Astronomy Club: A place to rendezvous with the stars. All the constellations, galaxies and various celestial bodies, get to acquaint yourself with all.
Science for Fun Club: Everyone like breaking codes and decrypting encrypted messages. This is the place which is all about enjoying science from making stuffs and doing anything which one likes.
Robotics Club: Making a robot must have been a fantasy among you all. Here is your chance to go for it. Create robots that fight, race, play and all that you can make them do.
Media, Arts and Design is the most active student's council of IIT Rajasthan. There are various clubs under the MAD council which function very efficiently and smoothly under an official coordinator and an assistant coordinator besides the various volunteers. All the clubs are under the direct supervision of the General Executive of the council. The following clubs function under the MAD Council:
Photography and Photo-editing Club: Workshops and competitions on various photography skills, Adobe Photoshop are periodically organized; some by our own students and some by professionals. It is also responsible for designing digital media for all the other events. This club becomes very busy both before and during the time of college festivals as all the designing and media coverage are undertaken by this club.
Video Editing Club: A film or video editor is responsible for assembling raw material into finished product suitable for broadcasting. Workshops on various software like Windows Movie Maker, Adobe After-effects are essentially held.
Fine Arts Club: This club gives a platform to students to show their art skills. There are regular competitions under it. To begin with sketching, painting, art and craft are the very common ones. Besides these, there are workshops of some other forms of arts that are not very common and need to be learnt by an instructor. This club becomes very active during the time of college festivals as all the decoration and props are managed by this club.
Media Screening: The responsibility of regular screening of movies, cricket and football matches and various other sports falls under this club.
Web Designing: This is a club for new, intermediate and advanced web designers. Apart from equipping people with tools and knowledge to create websites, the clibs designs and maintains websites for the various institute festivals. Workshops and competitions are the way forward.
Jour Magazine: Jour is the official semester magazine of the students of IIT Rajasthan. There is a team which works throughout the semester and make the publication of the magazine possible.
PROMOTION, RELATION, OCCASION, MANAGEMENT is the newest cell of SCHoD, IIT Rajashan. It deals with all public relations and management of the various activities that take place in an IIT. It gives the student an opportunity to enhance his/her writing, speaking, presenting skills and develops in the student an ability to manage and co-ordinate occasions and festivals. It is made of the following sections:
Promotion: Increasing student/public awareness of various events and activities taking place in IIT Rajasthan.
Relation: Maintaining relations with students, various organisations outside the institute etc.
Occasion: Activities and festivals associated with the institute and its students.
Management: Planning and execution of all the activities mentioned above, and more. It serves the double purpose of conducting festivals and activities, while making it a learning process for the students.
The WAVES (Writing, Awareness, Vocals, Entertainment and Social awareness) cell is responsible for conducting these events and more, providing several avenues for students to express their freedom and creativity. These events include workshops and competitions, helping students showcase, as well as hone their talents. Vibrant activity-based clubs form the WAVES cell. The following clubs function under the WAVES cell:
The Music Club: It is the heaven for the musically inclined, dealing with the entire musical spectrum, from Hindustani to Western, vocals and instrumentals.
The Dance Club: It consists of an extremely competitive team that has performed at fests across the country.
The Drama Club: It produces a wide variety of plays, including comedy and Nukkad (street plays) that raise awareness about burning social issues.
Sports, Adventures, Games and Explorations is an organization which aims at the improvement of traditional sports education and configure a unique sports culture through various competitions, festivals, disciplines and social integration programs, which together will develop a system that brings a healthier way of life to our student athletes, will help them make better decisions, feel a winning attitude, will assist them develop their skills and abilities, and will make them better human beings.
Sports council with its fabulous performance in consecutive 3 Inter IIT's, has motivated each and every individual student of the institute to be a part of it and contribute to its better It has been successfully organizing various inter college and intra college festivals in every academic session like Varchas'11, Kridansh'08 '09 '10.
