Where is IIT Rajasthan located?
IIT Rajasthan is currently functioning from its transit campus in city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan The operations will shift to our Main Campus located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan in within a couple of years.
Where is the Transit campus located?
Transit campus of IIT Rajasthan is situated in the MBM Engineering College campus on the old Residency road, Ratanada which is approximately 3 km from Jodhpur Airport and 5-6 km from Jodhpur Railway Station. You may like to have a look at the map and look around our campus with Wikimapia.
Where is the Main campus located?
The main campus of IIT Rajasthan is located in Jodhpur, Dist. Jodhpur. The main campus is 4km away from the city of jodhpur and is well connected by road.

What is the climate like in Jodhpur?
Jodhpur has extreme type of climate with temperature range variation being very high. Average rainfall is 32 cm annually. The best season to visit the city is between October and March. Like the oasis in the vast desert, the city has a variety of thorny shrubs all over the area. It also home to some of the animal species that can survive in an arid and dry environment.
Will there be internet facility? What about computer terminals?
Yes, adequate internet facilities and computing facilities are available. There are numerous terminals in the computer center for the use of students.
The internet facility through WiFi is provided to the students in the Hostel premises. Also in the Hostel premises,
there is a small computer centre for the students to use in the evening and night time.
What about laboratories?
All necessary UG laboratories are in place the Academic Building Block I.
Some research labs of CoE (Energy) and CoE (ICT) are in place.
Will there be a library?
Yes there is a central library which is in Academic Block I in the Institute. Central library houses all necessary books, journals, periodicals, etc. A reading
section is also maintained at the IIT Residential/ Hostel Complex for the students. For more details, visit http://iitj.ac.in/library/.
What about hostel facilities?
Fully furnished accommodation facilities for all the students are available at the IIT Residential Complex,
GPRA, Kendranchal, Vivek Vihar Colony, Pali Road, Jodhpur - 342 005 which is about 14 km from the Institute.
There is a bus facility for the students to commute between the Institute and the IIT Residential Complex.

Yes. Accommodation for girl students is also available.
